{"id":447,"date":"2009-06-12T20:02:38","date_gmt":"2009-06-13T04:02:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.racingyachtmanagement.com\/blog\/?p=447"},"modified":"2009-06-25T22:14:58","modified_gmt":"2009-06-26T06:14:58","slug":"ficker-cup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racingyachtmanagement.com\/blog\/ficker-cup\/","title":{"rendered":"Ficker Cup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.racingyachtmanagement.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/ficker-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"ficker\" title=\"ficker\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-449 colorbox-447\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.racingyachtmanagement.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/ficker-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.racingyachtmanagement.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/ficker.jpg 448w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><br \/>\nSince I got back from Italy I did<br \/>\nthe Spinnaker Cup,<br \/>\nworked on the Saga 409 and we went out for our first test sail,<br \/>\nstarted sailing in Wednesday night match racing practice races in Tiburon on J22s,<br \/>\ndid some Friday nights on the moore 24,<br \/>\nworked with my brother in his yard,<br \/>\nwent to the premiere of UP the Pixar animated movie (one of our crew is a fix animator of the movie),<br \/>\nhad a great time with my nephew and mother at the beach,<br \/>\ntook my nephew to a BBQ at some friends,<br \/>\nbeen to Monterey for two days of diving and learning how to take apart regulators and tank valves and worked on a bunch of boats. So it has been a busy last three weeks. <\/p>\n<p>Right now I am in Long Beach for a Grade 3 match racing event called Ficker Cup sailing with Bruce Stone. We had practice yesterday against Sally Barkow with Dave Perry coaching. Today we had 5 races and ended up winning 3 and losing 2. So we now are tied for second in points but are third in a count back out of 5 boats. Amazingly for us we beat Dave Perry (the guy who writes the rule books!).
